Join Us!

Aberdeen AAC has a variety of volunteer opportunities. See our current needs and vacancies here. Feel free to make contact if you have expertise to contribute or other ideas how you might support the club or just to ask questions.

Many Hands Make Light Work

Aberdeen AAC relies greatly on numerous volunteers for a variety of duties and roles that often go unnoticed: team managers, fundraising, membership secretary, kit management, publicity and social media, trophy management, statistician, welfare and child protection, supporting the Academy, administration, and so many others.

If you give your time and effort to the club, you are appreciated and valued. So much would go undone without you. THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO!

Thank You Committee!

THANKS TO OUR COMMITTEE! Your countless hours of work behind the scenes, your leadership and governance, the administration and decision-making, make it possible for the club to continue to develop and strengthen, guiding it safely and steadily into the future.

Read more about our current committee here.

The committee may co-opt additional members throughout the year. If you would like to have a leadership role with the club and help guide its direction, please contact Brian at

Thank You Officials!

THANKS TO OUR OFFICIALS! Without you, there are no competitions, no official results, no records, no PBs, no high-level performances. The value of your time, effort, patience, and guidance is immeasurable.

If you would like to learn more about becoming an official or if you would consider filling the role of Officials Coordinator–an AAAC committee role, email Brian at

Thank You Coaches!

THANKS TO OUR COACHES, for your expertise and time, your patience and encouragement, your support and comfort, and your extraordinary efforts to help AAAC athletes go faster, higher and farther.

If you would like to learn more about becoming a coach with AAAC, email Ruth at

Volunteers’ Week

It is no exaggeration to say: Aberdeen Amateur Athletic Club would not exist without volunteers. The likely thousands of people who have shared their time and expertise over nearly 7 decades have contributed to a rich club history and made the club what it is today.

Coaches, officials, committee/board members, various managers and administrators, fundraisers and so many other roles–all volunteers–all deserve the credit and the gratitude of all AAAC members, past, present and future.

Our sincere thanks to you all.

AAAC Receives Grant

AAAC is very pleased to announce that the club was just awarded £3558 by Corra Foundation!

This grant will be used to support AAAC’s Energizer Programme, by funding athletics sessions in/around Torry, scheduled to start in autumn 2021.

Virtual Officials Courses

The need for local officials has never been greater. To help club volunteers get more experience or qualified, Scottish Athletics are running online virtual courses in May:

👉🏻 Wednesday 19 May, Level 1 Track Course
👉🏻 Monday 31 May, Level 1 Field Course Part 1
👉🏻 Monday 7 June, Level 1 Field Course Part 2

⭐️ All courses will be delivered via Zoom, running 6:30-9PM. Booking details are here. Space is limited, so sign up early.

💷 AAAC will reimburse our volunteers for these courses.

🤔 If AAAC volunteers want to attend a course, but cannot manage these dates, please email Brian at There may be an opportunity for AAAC to host our own course if we have enough interest.

👍🏻 Any new volunteer officiating at a Together Apart competition or a local club competition before they undertake an official’s course, can count those experiences towards their officials’ level 1 licence.
