AAAC Needs Volunteers

As I’m sure you are aware, Aberdeen AAC is a volunteer-run organisation. The club would not exist without its volunteers: coaches, officials, committee, etcetera. Over the years, these volunteers have helped Aberdeen AAC teams and athletes to achieve much.

AAAC has a constant need for volunteers in various roles. At this time, parents, senior and master athletes are needed to come forward and share their time and perhaps, their expertise, to support the club. Many roles only require a couple of hours each month or may only last for a short term—a huge time commitment is not usually necessary.

Currently, we have a great need for officials, both formally trained and untrained helpers on the days of events. Contact Emma at officials@aberdeenaac.co.uk if you can help.

We could also make use of people willing to run or support fundraising events or initiatives. We may soon require assistance with corporate solicitations as well.

A regular kit manager would be helpful, mainly to be available for selling club vests and crop tops during training sessions, managing the money, and making an occasional order. Perhaps, the parent of a young athlete training at 5:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays?

Leading up to the new data protection rules (GDPR) taking effect in May, a volunteer for the position of AAAC data protection officer would be a great help and/or volunteers forming an ad hoc subcommittee.

There may be other ways that a volunteer could support the club, maybe through specialised skills. No useful assistance will be turned away.

It may even be possible for volunteers to earn money for the club from their employers as one AAAC committee member did, earning £200 for AAAC.

Please respond to Brian Pahlmann at clubmanager@aberdeenaac.co.uk with offers of assistance. Feel free to include a completed copy of this form.
